Characters
Think you’ve got what it takes to join The 100? These fine examples are here to show you what not to do. Meet Austin, Kait, Aerin, Nora, Louie, and Oliver. The most dysfunctional “heroes” in Metro Heights.
AUSTIN ADAMS
Austin Adams is a dad who has spent years trying to join The 100, the elite hero program founded by his legendary father The Atlas. His powers activate through different types of alcohol, a gift that creates as many problems as it solves. It is hard to stop crime when you are buzzed, and even harder to convince anyone that you can be taken seriously as a hero. After countless failed attempts he has become almost invisible to the world that celebrates his father and Austin feels that weight everytime he steps into an audition room. Many people in Metro Heights do not even know Atlas had a son, and that anonymity cuts deeper than Austin admits.
He wants to prove to himself and to his family that he can be something good. That determination is what pushes him toward a chaotic reality show called Bad Heroes. It is not the route he pictured, but it may be the only chance left for him to show who he really is without being compared to a legend.
KAIT ADAMS
Kait is Austin’s wife and the steady center of the Adams family. She can communicate with animals, a power that sounds helpful on paper but usually results in unwanted opinions from every creature in the room. Kait manages the kids, the talking cat, and Austin’s unpredictable hero ambitions while trying to keep the family moving in one piece. She is practical, protective, and often the only voice of reason in the chaos around her. In many ways she is the real hero of the family, even if no one ever seems to notice.
Louie Jez
Louie is Austin’s childhood friend and his super-hero agent, a role he takes as seriously as he takes anything which is not many things... He is a fast talking opportunist who always seems to find a way to land on his feet even when he is responsible for creating the mess. He means well… most of the time. Just don’t ask him to explain the contract you signed.
NORA ADAMS
Nora is the older sister of Aerin and the electric talent of the Adams family. Her powers are tied to her emotions and often spark when she is overwhelmed or irritated, so she usually keeps them hidden whenever she can. Nora never wanted to be a hero and now finds herself dragged into a reality show she never asked to be part of. She is independent, outspoken, and quietly protective of her younger brother even if she rarely shows it. Nora is trying to navigate high school life while the world around her keeps pushing her toward a role she is not sure she wants.
AERIN ADAMS
Aerin is the youngest member of the Adams family and often the most unpredictable. His power allows him to shapeshift into an old man, a form he uses with surprising confidence. He looks up to his father, loves varsity football, and has already attempted to use his elderly form to sneak into bars with mixed results. Aerin brings enthusiasm, confusion, and a warm heart to every situation, even when his wrinkles show up before his wisdom.
Oliver
Oliver is the Adams family cat, a British talking feline with a dry sense of humor and a habit of getting involved in everyone’s business. He has the unusual ability to shoot laser beams from his eyes, a power he treats casually despite how dangerous it can be. Oliver is also in an ongoing feud with the Mobster Rats next door, a rivalry that adds its own brand of chaos to the family’s daily life.
Aunt Jo
Aunt Jo is a retired hero trainer who helped shape some of the strongest heroes of her era, including her son The Atlas. After years of witnessing the toll hero work can take she stepped away from that world and refused to let Austin follow the same path. She is sharp, protective, and full of tough love, but beneath it all she cares deeply about her family. She simply does not want to see them repeat the mistakes of the past.
The Atlas
Once the world’s most celebrated hero now a name spoken in past tense. A founding member of The 100, Atlas disappeared without a trace years ago, leaving behind a fractured legacy and a son desperate to live up to it. Whether he’s dead, hiding, or something in between, one thing’s certain: the world hasn’t stopped looking for Atlas… and neither has Austin.
THE 100
The 100 are the legally registered superheroes of Metro Heights. The government created the program with the help of The Atlas, who established the original structure and set the limit of one hundred active heroes. At the very top sit the five strongest members known simply as The League. They serve as the face of hero work in the city and represent the highest level of power and responsibility.
Hero work in Metro Heights is extremely dangerous and many heroes do not stay in the program for long. Because of this the roster constantly needs new recruits and tryouts happen more often than anyone would like to admit. Every aspiring hero dreams of earning a place in The 100 and joining the ranks of the legends who came before them.
